Christmas Minute to Win It Games
Friday’s activity was a lot of fun. Elder Cummings gave a very nice message on the Savior’s birth. He showed a video that wasn’t in Hungarian or English. :) It was just in music and pictures and it was beautiful! Following his message, we played our Christmas Minute to Win It games. We divided into two teams with members taking turns participating in each game.
Christmas Card Cliffhanger was fun, but not as hard as it seemed it would be.
The object of the game was to blow the Christmas card to the edge of the table
softly enough that it hangs on the edge without dropping to the floor.
Tibi took his time and won on the first try. He was on our team. :)
M & M Transfer was next. (played with Skittles because I couldn't find M & M's)
Sister Cummings had these huge straws in their apartment, so we used them.
The object of this game was to suck up an M & M with a straw from one cup
and transport it to another cup without dropping it.
Ta. won that one for his team. He got everyone of the Skittles into the cup.
Poor Roberta didn't have as much luck with her straw.
Face the Gingerbread Man was hilarious to watch!
They had to start with a cookie on their forehead and wiggle it down to their mouth using just their facial muscles. After several tries, Sister K. was the winner for this one! :)
Reindeer Nosedive was very hard.
In this game, they were supposed to swing a pom pom up to stick on the Vaseline on their nose.
The string stuck pretty good, but not the homemade pom pom. (I couldn't find pom poms, so had to make them, and they were a bit larger than the tiny ones back home.)
So, no one got points for this one.
Sister Weberg said, "Does this count?" :)
D. got her string to stick also, but that pom pom would not cooperate!
Jingle Bells was harder to set up than it was to win. Elder Cummings, with his perfect pitch, got the glasses ready to play Jingle Bells. You would think that all the glasses would be equal in their tones, but they weren’t. So, each glass had different levels of water in them, and one didn’t have any.
For the game, the team members had to put them in the correct order to play Jingle Bells before the 60 seconds was over. Sisters B. and K. both won a point for their teams.
Following the games, we had some healthy and sweet refreshments.
Veggies and dip, bread with cheese; and mandarins and cookies.
Then, we had our White Elephant gift exchange.
T. totally loved his gift. :)
A. got a periscope that Ta. made when he was in the 8th grade.:)
It worked pretty good too!
Ta. got my purple hat filled with fun Christmas things, which Sister Cummings promptly took from him on her turn. He finally ended up with a hat, scarf and gloves that Sister Hartwell left when she returned home from her mission. :)
Roberta had number 12 which was the last number, so she got to choose from all the gifts.
She also chose my purple hat (because purple is her favorite color),
so Sister Cummings lost it as well.:)
Sister Cummings finally ended up with a box of coconut candies that are very tasty!
Dori was perfectly happy with her movie and Milka bar;
and perfectly happy that no one took them from her. :)
Sister Weberg got a candy cane filled with candies.
Elder Cummings got another one of my gifts -
Christmas cookie cutters and peanut butter oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips.
Sister Cummings is planning to make a wreath with the cookie cutters.
I had number 1, so I got to choose first and ended up with a cup of candy,
which no one wanted, so I passed it around to everyone at the end.
We all had a wonderful time together!
